S4E1: French Omelette & French Toast
Aired: July 19, 2024 | Watch on OFTV
Luna Star and Cherie DeVille kick off season four with a trip to France, metaphorically. Chef Jojo challenges them with the difficult duo of French omelets and French toast.
Luna, a restaurateur herself, plans to channel the culinary skills of her Cuban mother. Cherie, “the internet’s stepmom,” is a master of simple soups, but does she have the chops to pull this off?
Chef Jojo warns that French omelets require precision and a gentle touch. If any part of the egg browns while cooking, the chefs must throw it away and start over.

Luna intimidates Cherie with her speed, and Cherie feels as though she’s moving in slow motion. Both contestants start with the French toast, since omelets cook quickly.
Chef Jojo is impressed with Cherie’s decision to spice up her omelet. This time, it’s Luna who is intimidated by Cherie’s skills and cooking background.
Although Luna is unsure of how to make French toast, Chef Jojo compliments her on her chopping skills. Luna regains her confidence and is more determined than ever to win.
As the competition heats up, both chefs are flying by the seats of their pants. Luna tries recreating the omelets she usually makes, filled with peppers and spices. But Chef Jojo reminds her that a French omelet is all about simplicity.
Cherie heads over to the deep fryer for her French toast, a risk she’s unsure will pay off. When Chef Jojo checks each of their omelets, he discovers burnt bottoms. They both must start over.
With only five minutes left, Chef Jojo steps in to demonstrate his French omelet technique—a lifeline in the stressful final stretch.

When time runs out, Chef Jojo is impressed that both Luna and Cherie managed to finish. He is genuinely excited to taste their dishes.
Despite Luna’s lack of experience with French omelets and toast, Chef Jojo compliments her flavors and techniques. Except for some burnt edges on the toast.
Similarly, Chef Jojo loves the taste and texture of Cherie’s omelet. However, he wishes her French toast were sweeter.
At the beginning, it seemed like Cherie had this challenge in the bag. But Chef Jojo prefers Luna’s dish, and she will move on to the semifinals.
S4E2: Loco Moco
Aired: July 26, 2024 | Watch on OFTV
Back in the kitchen, Keiran Lee and his professional frenemy Asa Akira are eager to battle. Can they put their personal drama aside and concentrate on Chef Jojo’s challenge?
Asa likes mixing up fresh pasta and Keiran prefers grilling, so they’re both shocked that they're making traditional Hawaiian Loco Moco.
Chef Jojo tries his best to explain the dish—a delicious combination of hamburger, rice, and egg. However, Keiran and Asa struggle to wrap their heads around it when the timer starts.

The tension between Asa and Keiran is palpable as the two try to figure out the recipe. Keiran is confident in his meat seasoning skills, but Asa is a bit lost… something Keiran plans to take advantage of.
Chef Jojo asks about the feud between Keiran and Asa, and they explain their long and complicated history. However, they assure Chef Jojo that they’re now best friends (who love getting on each other’s nerves).
Shortly after, Asa goes back to stressing out about the ticking clock while Keiran continues playfully to psych her out. Fortunately, Chef Jojo clocks Keiran’s sabotage attempts and continues encouraging Asa.
As stressful as things are, Chef Jojo can’t help but mention how much fun chaos Keiran and Asa are bringing to the kitchen. No matter how their dishes turn out, this episode is one for the ages.
And after all the bickering, Asa and Keiran actually help each other out in the final moments. They share ingredients and cooking tips to help get each other over the finish line.
When time is up, both Asa and Keiran have food on their plates. However, one dish looks MUCH more appealing.

Chef Jojo tastes Asa’s Loco Moco first, and compliments her overall presentation, rice, and meat. Unfortunately, her sauce is much too acidic.
Keiran can’t relish this victory for long, because Chef Jojo finds his dish under-seasoned and his rice nearly inedible. He did, however, enjoy Keiran’s meat. That seems to be a running theme.
All in all, Chef Jojo has nothing but great things to say about Keiran and Asa… as TV show guests. But as chefs? They both need a lot of work.
Ultimately, Asa’s dish wins the day. But she knows that she’ll need to step it up when she gets to the semifinals.
S4E3: Gourmet Grilled Cheese
Aired: August 2, 2024 | Watch on OFTV
When Lena the Plug and Dani Daniels enter the kitchen, you know it’s going to be a fiery episode. And their challenge is a tasty one: gourmet grilled cheese and tomato soup.
Compared to last week’s Loco Moco, this might seem like a cakewalk. But every good chef knows that simple hardly ever means easy.
As a home chef, Lena has a knack for cooking steak. Meanwhile, Dani shares her passion for Italian food with her Sicilian husband and mother-in-law.
Both chefs have made plenty of grilled cheese sandwiches, but can they make an unforgettable one?

Lena and Dani get to work, and begin to strategize how to make a tasty tomato soup from scratch.
Fortunately for Lena, soup is one of her specialities. Although she’s never prepared homemade tomato soup, her instincts take over and Chef Jojo seems pleased.
Dani has a secret advantage of her own. She’s a This Is Fire superfan, and has studied every episode. She’s confident she knows what flavors Chef Jojo likes, and can adapt her pasta sauce recipe into a delicious tomato soup.
Moving onto the grilled cheese sandwiches, Dani goes for a classic American cheese for maximum meltiness. Meanwhile, Lena pulls out everyone’s favorite sandwich-enhancer: bacon.
But Lena isn’t the only one with a trick up her sleeve. Surprising both Lena and Chef Jojo, Dani pulls out a container of her signature Rub and Tug seasoning.
With the surprise ingredients out of the way, the competition really heats up as the clock counts down. Dani, realizing she’s ahead, pretends to plate her dish early in hopes of knocking Lena’s confidence.
But Lena is focused on her soup’s bizarre color.

Dani's dish is first up for tasting. Chef Jojo takes a bite, and everyone enjoys the satisfying crunch. He’s impressed by the texture, flavor, and Italian-inspired tomato soup.
Lena worries that she’s serving Chef Jojo more dairy than he can handle. But after digging in, Chef Jojo is happy with the bacon and impressed by Lena’s effort with the soup.
In a This Is Fire first, Chef Jojo needs to take a second bite of both dishes to declare a winner. Remember, simple doesn’t always mean easy, and this is the toughest decision Chef Jojo’s ever had to make.
But, after much deliberation, Chef Jojo announces Dani as the winner. Lena warns that Chef Jojo might regret his decision some day.
S4E4: Fish & Chips
Aired: August 9, 2024 | Watch on OFTV
What’s on the menu for Eva Elfie and Joanna Angel? British-style fish and chips.
Joanna is a snarky New Yorker with an equal passion for cooking and healthy competition. Model/actress Eva is less confident about her culinary skills, but hopes that her positive attitude will help her through the challenge.
Confident or not, both contestants are worried about this dish. While neither are big fans of fried food, Eva has never even tasted fish and chips.
Chef Jojo is always willing to help, but it looks like he’ll be extra-busy with this challenge.

As the two begin working on their dishes, Joanna cracks open a beer (used for the batter). Meanwhile, Eva diligently slices her potatoes using a mandolin, impressing Chef Jojo with her technique.
It quickly becomes clear that Joanna’s cooking style is messier than Eva’s. But Chef Jojo encourages both to maintain their unique approaches.
Joanna pulls her first piece of fish from the fryer, but it’s a flop. Chef Jojo advises her to stop prodding the fish while it cooks, but she appears to ignore him.
As predicted, Chef Jojo finds himself rushing to Eva and Joanna’s aid as time ticks down. Eventually, even the cool-headed pro chef needs to crack open his own beer.
The situation becomes more chaotic when Eva slices her finger while chopping herbs. But the show’s medical team comes to the rescue and Eva is soon back at work.
Joanna, a competitive runner, comments that running marathons is a breeze compared to cooking on This Is Fire.
Finally, the chefs finish plating and can catch their breath.

Chef Jojo is impressed with the flakiness and taste of Joanna’s fish. Sadly, her tartar sauce is too mayo-heavy, and her fries have a mashed potato texture.
Eva’s fish is crispy on the outside but overcooked inside, and her chips are burnt. However, Chef Jojo is very happy with Eva’s creative plating and her efforts overall.
Eva’s dish wins. But as the credits roll, Eva and Joanna taste each other’s dishes and both agree Joanna should have won. How’s that for a surprise ending?
S4E5: Curry with Homemade Naan
Aired: August 16, 2024 | Watch on OFTV
Fresh from their first-round victories, Luna Star and Asa Akira return to face off in the semifinals. The question now is, whose Indian curry and homemade naan will move them closer to the $20,000 prize?
Luna wants to show Chef Jojo more of her culinary variety and to use the secret spice she brought from home. After her last win, Asa is more confident and doesn't plan to leave empty-handed.
The semifinalists are definitely feeling the pressure, but are ready for the challenge.

The countdown begins, and the contestants scramble to pick their proteins. Asa goes with tofu, a nod to her Japanese upbringing, and Luna selects chicken.
Chef Jojo repeatedly reminds them of the importance of spices in making a winning curry. Fortunately, both chefs are comfortable with spice. But Asa isn’t comfortable with how much Luna seems to be flirting with Chef Jojo.
Despite having never made one before, Asa starts working on a mango chutney to give her dish a sweet element. Meanwhile, Chef Jojo samples Luna’s curry base and tells her she’s on the right track.
Chef Jojo previews Asa’s curry next. She’s also on the right track. Asa jokingly accuses Chef Jojo of recycling his compliments.
But as Luna and Asa start plating their curries, Chef Jojo reminds them about the homemade naan. Both seem to have forgotten this key element and spring into action.
Once the naan is on the grill, Luna and Asa return to plating their curries. They’re both going above and beyond with the presentation, which Chef Jojo appreciates.

Chef Jojo digs into Luna’s chicken curry first, and instantly tastes a wave of spicy flavors—including her special seasoning. Considering that she didn’t even know what naan was until 30 minutes ago, Luna pulled off a remarkable dish.
Asa’s last-minute mango chutney is a hit, but Chef Jojo notes that her curry sauce needs a bit more seasoning. And, to make matters worse, her naan isn’t fully cooked.
Luna Star wins a spot in the finals and $5,000 for defeating Asa. But Asa still vows to cheer for Luna during the finals.
S4E6: Ravioli with Mushrooms
Aired: August 23, 2024 | Watch on OFTV
After narrowly edging out their opponents, Dani Daniels and Eva Elfie are back for the semifinals. Their challenge? Ravioli with wild mushrooms.
Obviously, Dani’s experience with Italian food gives her a major advantage over Eva. Dani has prepared ravioli dozens of times, while Eva has only eaten it in restaurants.
But after her surprise win in episode four, it’s way too early to dismiss Eva as a serious contender. Will her positive attitude and determination pay off twice?

Dani plans to fill her ravioli with prosciutto and ricotta and top them off with a brown butter sage sauce. It’s a smart move, because Chef Jojo loves brown butter sage sauce.
Meanwhile, Eva is still concentrating on nailing the first step of pasta making—rolling out her dough. Still recovering from a finger injury she sustained in episode four, Eva needs Chef Jojo’s help with the pasta machine.
After a peaceful start, tension mounts when Eva realizes that Dani used up all the ricotta for her dish. Chef Jojo recommends using mascarpone instead, saving Eva from serving a cheese-less ravioli.
As Eva and Dani begin assembling their ravioli, Chef Jojo worries about Eva’s filling. When he steps in and helps her adjust the spice in her sauce, Dani quietly wonders if Eva is downplaying her skills on purpose.
After helping Eva, Chef Jojo samples Dani’s mushrooms. Despite his silence, it’s easy to see that he’s impressed with Dani’s sauce.
With only five minutes left on the clock, Eva and Dani rush to plate their dishes. Dani adds a caviar and sage topper to elevate her presentation.

Both dishes look delicious, but only one contestant can move on to the final.
Dani is up first, and rather than offering critique, Chef Jojo delivers nothing but praise for her caviar-topped ravioli. Hopefully, Dani’s Sicilian mother-in-law is proud of her work.
Eva is understandably nervous after Dani’s glowing review, but Chef Jojo compliments her dish. He also gives her a few pointers for the next time she prepares ravioli.
Dani wins the $5,000 and the chance to win another $20,000 in the This Is Fire finale.
S4E7: Venison with Blackberry Sauce
Aired: August 30, 2024 | Watch on OFTV
It all comes down to this: Luna Star vs. Dani Daniels. Although both home chefs have two wins under their belts, there can only be one This Is Fire Season Four winner.
Luna says she learned from past mistakes and vows to keep her station clean. This Is Fire superfan Dani Daniels brushed up on past episodes and is ready to win.
But when Chef Jojo announces their final challenge, venison with blackberry wine sauce, both are like deer in headlights.

Though shaken by their surprise protein, Luna and Dani jump into action when the clock starts.
Venison is notorious for drying out quickly, so Luna and Dani hatch two different plans to prepare their dishes. Luna opts for smaller cuts of the meat, while Dani plans to sear the complete steak and cut it after it’s been cooked.
Luna commits an early error when she chooses white wine (not red) for her demi glace. She tastes her creation, admits that it’s “freaking weird”, and starts on damage control.
With 20 minutes left, both Dani and Luna are starting to feel the pressure. However, Chef Jojo encourages them to stay calm and have confidence in their skills.
Luna samples her new demi glace and it’s a massive improvement. Both chefs begin work on their vegetable puree, with Luna adding peppers for a Cuban flare.
As Luna and Dani put the final touches on their dishes, Luna worries her meat might be overcooked. Dani, on the other hand, is totally confident she pulled off a win.

To add some wow-factor to her final presentation, Dani pours her demi glace over the venison in front of Chef Jojo. Chef Jojo digs in and gives overwhelmingly positive feedback. However, her meat could be better-seasoned.
Moving onto Luna’s dish, Chef Jojo is won over by her puree, demi glace, and overall seasoning. And when Chef Jojo cuts into a piece of meat, it's cooked perfectly—much to Dani’s disappointment.
It’s an extremely difficult decision for Chef Jojo. And, after very long and tense deliberation, he announces the winner…
Luna Star!
SuperFinals: Mediterranean Branzino
Aired: Sept. 14, 2024 | Watch on OFTV
Season Four Champion Luna Star is back and ready to face off against Season Three’s Riley Reid. They’ll need to prepare a flawless Mediterranean branzino.
Chef Jojo urges them to raid the pantry and elevate this flaky fish with bold flavors. But that’s not all—Luna and Riley must prepare the perfect orzo as well.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a SuperFinals without a twist. And, for the first time ever on This Is Fire, the chefs must also make a dessert. Sorbet, to be exact.

Riley begins her sorbet, choosing passionfruit, while Luna follows suit but adds strawberry jam, knowing from previous challenges that Chef Jojo is a fan of berries.
True to her bold style, Luna creates an aromatic spice blend for her fish, fully aware that Chef Jojo expects big flavors. Meanwhile, Riley shifts her focus to the orzo as Chef Jojo reflects on both contestants’ This Is Fire journeys.
Though Riley feels intimidated by Luna’s cooking skills, she tries to stay composed. Chef Jojo urges her to elevate the flavors, and she takes the advice just as both competitors place their fish over the open fire.
With their fish cooking, Luna and Riley move on to perfecting the other elements of their dishes. Luna tastes her mozzarella-infused orzo and quickly realizes it’s lacking flavor, so she heads to the spice rack.
Riley’s orzo also tastes bland, prompting her to sauté some veggies in a last-ditch effort to add some punch. As Luna shaves truffles over her orzo, Riley rushes to her station, wondering what kind of culinary magic Luna is pulling off.
Confident in her flavors, Luna begins plating. Meanwhile, Riley worries she won’t meet Chef Jojo’s standards.

It's time for Chef Jojo to judge the final dishes. Riley is up first, and while her fish and orzo are cooked perfectly, her worst fear is confirmed: they’re underseasoned. But Chef Jojo is thoroughly impressed with her sorbet.
Next, Luna’s dish is up for tasking. Chef Jojo loves the flavors in her orzo and fish and appreciates her messy yet passionate approach to cooking.
And to top it all off? Her sorbet is absolutely delicious.
After an unforgettable season, only one Grand Champion can emerge victorious—and it's Chef Luna Star! Her win is the perfect cherry on top of the Season Four sundae.
