On OnlyFans, the safety of our creators is a huge priority for us. We endeavour to always implement a wide variety of features, processes and services to help keep everyone safe and happy on the platform. Find out more about the tools that help you stay safe on OnlyFans in this blog post – from keeping your account secure to protecting your content and giving you control over what you share on your profile.
Keeping your account secure
Your OnlyFans account is where you post your carefully curated content and is also where your details and earnings are stored. As such, it’s important that it stays secure. That’s why we have the tools in place to enable this.
Two-step verification
It’s a good idea to secure your OnlyFans account using two-step verification. Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator are two apps that work well for this. You can set two-step verification up in ‘Settings’ > ‘Account’ > ‘Two-Step Verification’. Follow the instructions to add the QR code or the Key provided to your authenticator app. This will link the authenticator app with your OnlyFans account. Once linked, you will have to enter a six-digit code from your app every time you log into your OnlyFans account. You can select ‘Remember me for 30 days’ to skip this step on a secure device. For more help with two-step verification, the OnlyFans Help Centre has a useful guide on two-step verification troubleshooting.
Account sessions
To view your log-in sessions on OnlyFans, go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Account’ > ‘Login Sessions’. If you have reason to believe that someone has accessed your account without your permission, you should change your password as soon as possible. If you are unable to access your account, you can create a support ticket in order for the OnlyFans Support Team to be able to assist you.
Protecting your content
To discourage non-consensual re-posting, it’s a good idea to Watermark your content, a copyright protection feature that gives credit and ownership to your work. You can turn on your Watermark in ‘Settings’ > ‘Privacy and Safety’.
If, despite your best efforts, your content is stolen, you can use the services of OnlyFans’ designated team, which is free for all creators to access, and they will be able to help you to resolve the issue. To learn more, visit this page on stolen content in the OnlyFans Help Centre.
Blocking and restricting users
Most users on OnlyFans are respectful. But if you’re not happy with a viewer, you have the option to block subscribers on OnlyFans. To do this, go to your subscribers list and click the three dots next to the name of the user you want to block. Then select ‘Block’. You can also block by country and IP address by going to ‘Settings’ > ‘Privacy and Security’.
If blocking seems like too big a step, you can also restrict users on OnlyFans. The method is the same as blocking a user but this time, you can select ‘Restrict’ instead of ‘Block’. When a user is restricted, they will not be able to direct message you or comment on your posts. However, they will still be able to view and like the content you post.
Choose what you let people see on your profile
When someone clicks on the link to your OnlyFans page they can always see your profile name, @username, and avatar with the cover picture. However, apart from these areas, you have a lot of control over what people can see on your profile. Depending on what kind of content you post and your own personal preference, you might want to keep some things between you and your subscribers – or for your eyes only.
You can alter visibility settings for the following:
- Your activity status (whether or not you are online.)
- The text on your profile: if you select ‘Fully Private Profile’ the text on your profile will be hidden.
- Your fan count.
- Your media count (i.e. the total number of your posts.)
- Your friends list.
- The sum of your tips.
You can also choose whether or not to enable comments on your posts, or to opt-out of the OnlyFans suggestions list.
