David Díaz is a former professional boxer from Chicago, Illinois. In 2006, he took the WBC interim lightweight title with a victory over José Armando Santa Cruz and successfully defended it against Erik Morales in 2007. Díaz later faced Manny Pacquiao in 2008, where he surrendered the WBC lightweight title via ninth-round TKO. Over his storied career, Díaz earned a reputation as a skillful southpaw.
