Alysha Newman is a Canadian Olympic pole vaulter who achieved success on the international stage with a bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games (setting a Games record), and bronze at the 2019 Pan American Games. After facing setbacks due to injuries and illness, she reached a career peak in the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning Canada’s first Olympic medal in women’s pole vault with a national-record vault of 4.85 meters.
