When using the internet, it’s possible that there may come a time where users feel the need to restrict or block certain individuals. However, in addition to our tools for protecting your content and data, OnlyFans provides a wide range of support and security features to help keep you safe and enable you to safeguard yourself whilst on our platform.
Some users may simply want to adjust the visibility settings on their accounts or make their accounts private. However, OnlyFans also provides users with features to further protect themselves, such as restricting or blocking other users.
As a fan or creator, you have complete discretion as to the accounts which you decide to restrict or block. This blog post will provide more information on how to block and restrict users on our platform to ensure your experience remains decidedly positive and enjoyable. Here’s a guide to blocking and restricting on OnlyFans.
What is the difference between blocking and restricting accounts?
There are two forms of restriction you may impose on how others can interact with you on OnlyFans.
Restricting
‘Restricting’ an account will mean that you will not see messages sent via DM, or see any comments left by that user. They will remain subscribed to your account and able to purchase content from you.
This method is great if you wish to restrict someone who might be spamming you, or you simply don’t want to see any responses or comments from them, whatever the reason.
It’s important to remember, however, that whilst restricted, the user will still have access to your page and see your content. So, if you want to take things further, you may wish to consider blocking instead.
Blocking
‘Blocking’ an account, as the title suggests, will prevent that user from accessing your page entirely. A blocked user will not be able to see or interact with your content, subscribe, or message you.
Blocking is a great way of protecting yourself and your content. As a fan or creator, you have complete discretion in who you choose to block, regardless of the reason behind your decision.
How to restrict an OnlyFans account
To restrict another user, you will need to either navigate to their profile, your ‘Fans’ page, or your ‘Following’ page.
On a user’s profile page, you need to press ‘More’ in the top right-hand corner, then from the drop-down menu select “Restrict”.
From your ‘Fans’ or ‘Following’ page, you will see a series of options within each user’s box. Simply select “Restrict”, shown with a no access icon.
How to block an OnlyFans account
To block a user from their profile page, follow the same process of pressing ‘More’ in the top right-hand corner. This time, from the drop-down menu, select ‘Block’ in order to block the user in question.
From your ‘Fans’ or ‘Following’ page, you will need to press ‘More’ in the top right-hand corner of the user’s box. Then, from the drop-down menu, select the bottom option ‘Block’.
Other methods of blocking OnlyFans accounts
In addition to just blocking individual accounts, OnlyFans provides the ability for you to block accounts by IP address or geographical location.
In order to block an account using these methods, you first need to navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘Privacy and Safety’.
At the bottom of the page, you will find a tab labeled ‘Safety’, where you will find the options “Block by Country” and “Block by IP address”.
Block by country
To block by country, navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘Privacy and Safety’ > ‘Block By Country’. Once there, you will be able to select the countries you’d like to block from the drop-down menu.
When selecting certain countries or regions, a secondary drop-down menu will appear, allowing you to further target your blocking to specific locations. For example, when selecting ‘United States of America’ from the list, a secondary drop-down will appear where you can select individual states to block access to your profile.
Block by IP address
To block by IP address, navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘Privacy and Safety’ > ‘Block By IP address’. Once there, you just need to enter the IP addresses which you want to block from accessing your account. Each address must be entered on a new line.
How do I see who I have blocked or restricted?
In order to find the list of users you have either blocked or restricted, you need to navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘Privacy and Safety’. At the bottom of the page, you will find a tab labeled ‘Safety’, where you will find the options ‘Restricted accounts’ and ‘Blocked accounts’.
How do I unrestrict or unblock someone?
Over time, you may wish to reverse your decision to restrict or block someone on OnlyFans. If this is the case, you can do so by navigating to your Blocked users list or Restricted users list. Once there, in each user’s box, you will find either an ‘Unrestrict’ or “Unblock’ button depending on the initial restriction you imposed. Simply select this button to undo the restrictions and remove them from your Blocked/Restricted list
